“Most people get 15 minutes of fame. I got three seconds.”

Four years ago, Scott Manson, a fifth year Journalism student at Laurier Brantford was on vacation with his family and the family of Michael Cera (of Superbad and Arrested Development fame). While at a restaurant one evening, Manson smiled for the camera at a very opportune time.

“I posed for a picture with a couple of parrots and [Michael] kind of snuck his head over my shoulder in the background,” Manson explains, noting that he declined to buy the photo.

The photo would later end up on the website thisisphotobomb.com, where, while doing research for Cera’s appearance on the January 4 episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the talk show staff came across the photo and included it in Cera’s segment.

“I got a phone call. It was from my mom saying that Michael called her saying that he just got off the Jimmy Fallon show and they talked about me,” Manson said, adding that he didn’t know why they talked about him, only that he should tune in.

“Jimmy Fallon called me a cool guy. It was kind of exciting.” Who needs the whole fifteen minutes?
