Arrest made in York University shooting

After a weeklong investigation, Toronto Police have apprehended and charged a person they believe to be the gunman involved with last week’s shooting at York University.

22-year-old Kemon Edwards has been charged with discharging a firearm and endangering lives.

Two were injured in the shooting. One woman was shot in the leg, while another sustained injuries due to shrapnel. Neither injuries were life threatening.

Police first received a call around 10:45 P.M. on Friday, March 7, 2014. The university was immediately put into lock down procedures which lasted until 1 A.M.

 

 

NewsTalk 1010 reports, “Some witnesses suggested the shooting may have been accidental.”
