Milton campus sits in wait of new government policy

September 6, 2011 9:09 PM

Moratorium. Its definition according to Webster is rather simple: “A suspension of activity.” To Wilfrid Laurier University, its definition is much more than that. It’s a roadblock in the way of expansion to Milton.

Expansion to Milton has been a hot topic for conversation among those in the Laurier community, but the production of a policy by the Ontario government has caused a delay in any thinking of building.

Instituted by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, the...

The myth of green

March 31, 2011 9:46 AM

Today’s modern, “plugged-in” member of society seems to think she has a pretty good idea of what’s environmentally friendly and what’s not. Activists, classroom activities and even commercials are in on the action, talking about recycling or new products without chemicals.

Electric cars, coffee cups made out of X% recycled paper, turning off your lights – it’s all green and it’s all good, right? But when you dig a little deeper, being green is infinitely more complex then you’d think.
